At last

I’m hoping to get this read before Christmas as I bought it for #2 daughter at the Edinburgh Book Festival after hearing the author. Daughter’s partner for 9 years before Phil grew up in East Berlin and was a youth when the wall came down. He had a lot of stories to tell about life in the east and insisted it wasn’t at all as we’d been led to believe, so I’m sure she’ll be interested in this tome.

A GP phoned to say I have shigella but nothing showed on Mr C’s tests but he assumes he also has it. That’s what others in the group also have. He said it would get better eventually but we both pressed for antibiotics. In the end he said he’d consult the microbiologist. We are to get 3 days of Ciproflaxin. Phew. I’m really relieved that something is being done at last as we may well have had this for a while, as we were unwell on and off for at least half of the trip.
