Courtroom

I was in court today.

The courtroom in the old St Albans town hall (built 1826, now Grade II* listed) is now a cafe, so you can drink your coffee and eat your food sitting in the Judge's chair, or in the dock or, indeed, anywhere within the court.  My blip is of the domed ceiling.

The rest of the building has been converted to a museum and gallery.  Crown court hearings moved to a brand new courthouse in 1992.
