Daniel .....
..... at Leigh-on-sea.
Today I've had a trip over to Leigh-on-sea on the Essex coast to visit the wonderful blipper Marknlizzie. Mark currently has some of his photos on display in a florist shop as part of the Leigh Art Trail.
Mark met me at the train station at 10:30 and after a bit of a walk around the old town we stopped for a cheeky pint ( at 11:30am ) before heading off in to town to Have a look at Mark's photos and a few other exhibitors in the art trail. In the Old Leigh studios we chatted to Richard, a potter friend of Mark's and Sheila, who enjoyed showing me her paintings and talking about her family who have inspired them.
We stopped for Lunch in a lovely little café and both had their specality of a doorstop style sarnie with potato salad, couscous, quinoa and a pot of green tea ( served in a pot with an egg timer to make sure it was brewed for just the right amount of time ). Ash who owns the café was very particular about making sure his customers know how to brew the tea and how the food is served and he likes to ask everybody's name. It made me chuckle that he always forgets Mark's name ( even though he's been in there plenty of times ). As we were leaving Ash said 'goodbye John, goodbye .... ( hesitating ) Mark ?.
Once we'd finished lunch Myself and Mark had a walk down towards Southend and watched the fishermen digging up lugworms, we both took a few photos and I ended up chatting to one of the fishermen and a few lovely ladies who were sat on the seafront. The photo blipped was taken on the walk back to Leigh. Daniel was stood on the seafront with his skateboard, I spotted his hair from quite a way away and just had to ask him for a photo.
Back in Leigh, myself and Mark had another pint before going back for a final look at his exhibition. It's been a great day and lovely to finally meet Mark ( Thanks for a fun day Mark ). I have put a few more of my photos from today here. So today's blip is .....
