Christmas Muffins made by Maria
The Second Sunday of Advent.
The Feast Day of Saint Eulalia.
It is a cloudy rainy morning, 6c but feels like 4c. It will be raining all day with some heavy showers. I was blessed to go out and buy the Mail on Sunday and some shortbread during a rare dry spell. Then I topped up the bird food and cat food. Maria came down for breakfast, Quaker oats and tea. We are watching James Martin 's Home Comforts at Christmas, with a wonderful array of recipes. Mary Berry showed us how to make a delicious mushroom and onion tart with puff pastry. Worth a try for sure.
The collage shows the Mary Berry Frosted Muffins that Maria made yesterday afternoon. They are yummy and last well in an airtight container.
It is a tradition in our family since 2011.
The cats are hiding from Maria, even though she loves cats and has been kind to them. It will take time for them to feel confident around new people.
I wish we could have a dry day or so, without torrential rain. I am quite accepting of whatever comes, but it has been weeks of rain and the garden is saturated.
There is plenty to do indoors, so I will be reading, loving the cats, chatting to Maria and Paul, doing Social Media, crocheting and watching Christmas films and Songs of Praise at 1:15 on BBC1
Enjoy your Sunday and thanks for dropping by.
