"And the Money Kept Rolling In"

Title is from 'Evita' of course.
Haven't done so well this year, I usually manage to fill five, or six, Steradent tubes with £ coins but only enough for three this year.
I'm afraid it's going to just be one per family instead of one per person!
Betty. F.M,i.L, had a quiet 95th Birthday today. Marlane got her a new bed-jacket, and there were a few cards, but the only visitors were Johanna, Ruby and Eric. Not to worry, she was tired and had a sleep this afternoon, after lunch.
Woke her in time to have something to eat before going to church, second Sunday of Advent service (Extra shows the Advent Candles, two burning) as it was the vigil mass, which counts as going on a Sunday.
I told a couple of people that it was her birthday and the word spread to a few others that know her. They came up, at the end of the service, to say Happy birthday, which really pleased her, although she had no idea who any of them were.
In last weeks newsletter/mass times sheet there was an announcement about one of her very good friends dying. When I told her she couldn't remember the lady. It's such a terrible disease, they worked together and used to visit each others houses, every couple of months or so, to have tea and a laugh.
Got home to a Marlane prepared meal and a slab of birthday cake, which I made and Marlane decorated. We stuck a single candle in the middle, lit it, and Betty managed to blow it out. I wasn't going to risk burning the house down with 95 candles!
Roll on next year when she'll be 96. I'm convinced I'm going to go before she does.
