As I'm sure I've mentioned on here before, I tend to be a solitary runner, although these days I enjoy doing Parkrun run with Hannah, and occasionally I get out for a few miles with my local MP, notorious homophobe* Tim Farron.
So, this morning was a treat, when I had the opportunity to do six miles with my brother, Wol, which I enjoyed enormously.
And once we had gone our separate ways to freshen up, we reconvened at our parents', along with the Minx, and his wife and daughter.
We had a lovely afternoon and evening, eating an early Christmas dinner, exchanging presents, and engaging in an activity building houses out of Cadbury's chocolate bars.
Although we were celebrating Christmas twenty-three days early, it coincided with the lighting of the Christmas tree on Plough Green, and also some carols.
Happily, we took the time to pop into the Plough pub, just off the green, which for many years was my local, starting from around the age of sixteen at a time when underage drinking was tolerated if you behaved yourself. It was a good system, I think.
