To London

Every year, my brother and his family spend Christmas with his wife's relatives in Spain. For a long time, we got around this by holding a 'Fauxliz Navidad' in early December, but we haven't done it since the pandemic. 

I resolved to sort that out this year, so today the Minx and I drove down to London. 

I knew the drive would be a stinker but we thought it would be improved if we could mostly do it by daylight. However, in the end it was half-two when we left, and we arrived at the Premier Inn in Tolworth just before eight. 

There used to be a little pub called the Toby Jug just by the hotel's location, and its claim to fame was that it was there that David Bowie performed the first night of the Ziggy Stardust tour. 

Anyway, my brother and his wife kindly invited us up for a bite to eat, so that at least was a pleasant end to the day (that and finding the bar still open when we arrived back at the hotel!).
