Lady in Red

Kelham Island’s day job is as an industrial museum, but for one weekend a year, it transforms itself into a wonderful Victorian Christmas Market. It’s a number of years since I’ve been - the weekend seemed to clash with something else I’ve been doing - but this weekend as we were free, we decided to go along for a couple of hours. I was pleased to see that the Victorian lady on stilts was still a feature. Later, she will transform into the Snow Queen, but we left before that happened. Many of the  stallholders and performers dress up in fantastic Victorian costumes. Others use it as an excuse to dig out their Steam Punk outfits.
