A Star Turn

Our main only christmas decoration these last years has been a star that Mike puts above the house. We live in an area with no lights, so it really shines out in the dark. And no point doing anything smaller in the windows or anything, as no-one comes past at night. But never felt it was quite big enough, so this year we've gone bigger, with an LED hosepipe, which has been clipped to the star Mike's made. It's now in place above the house (a two person job), but will only be lit on the first day of December. As with the lights in town.

You can also see the two trees we bought to replace two that succumbed to the sheep's nibbling - an apple and a persimmon.

Made up four more parcels, and took to post office - it's such a palaver posting anything outside the EU; there was quite a queue by the time the lady had sorted them all.

Gratefuls:
- a little rain in the night, as you can see; it's been getting very dry
- making banana bread from bananas Netty left, and taking a loaf to Mireille and Dan's in Safara
- chats with all three of our kids today, so good to connect
