Pink Horizon

We risked getting soaked and went to the beach at Hayling Island for our afternoon walk. The rain poured hard on the journey there but we were fortunate it had passed through by the time we arrived.

The sea was right out - a low, low tide (we’ve a full moon). Here you can see the sand in the foreground, the sand bar with some trapped water beyond it, then in the distance the edge of the sea and ships on the horizon. The grey clouds in the distance are the ones we managed to avoid. A brisk northerly wind was blowing them south quickly, towards the Isle of Wight and the Channel. Merlin ran and ran. By the time we left the beach at 16.20 the darkness was descending.

Baked potatoes for dinner this evening as we need to warm up!

Hope you’ve had a good day.

Gratefuls:
- Two walks by the sea. One at high tide and one at low tide.
- An iced bun and a gingerbread man from the bakery in Emsworth.
- Watching Merlin chasing leaves blowing along the beach in the wind.
