Autumn Lingers

A mainly wet and grey day but the few autumn colours we’ve had this year linger and bring some cheer.

We had a gentle walk at Emsworth this morning (to avoid the muddy field). It was calm and dry whilst we walked so we watched the small sail boats being raced on the mill pond and enjoyed observing the wading birds, ducks and geese on the foreshore.

I was determined to get the allotment again to do some weeding. I was successful, spending two happy hours in the rain with the whole allotment site to myself. Whilst I love the warm summer days there, I do equally enjoy winter days in the bad weather when I feel like I am adventurous being outside and when I have the place to myself, all peaceful except for the birds.

A lovely FaceTime catch up with my sister and her family this evening, and finishing the afternoon tea goodies we bought back home with us yesterday.
