Return Of The Kingfisher

I have occasionally heard the kingfisher's distinct call over the summer months, but always faint in the distance. Today, the rat-a-tat-tat behind me and closer, drew my attention and I walked towards its position. 

I managed a few shots before it flew back from where I had just come. Helpful I thought. Anyway, a good pose in good light. It would have been nice to get more detail, but I only had 300mm reach.
