This story shows the fate of a perfectly healthy Bedding Begonia felled by last night's heavy frost, the first real frost of the season which registered as Minus 3C on my garden thermometer. Some Autumns we experience more frosts than gales, this year very definitely the other way round. Much leaf clearing today included raking the grass, which won't be the last time in view of some nearby Oak trees which are still well covered.
