Not a pheasant

An unusually coloured (or colourless) Californian quail

Went to collect Young L to take him shopping on his birthday. On the way there I saw a cock pheasant. By the time I got my camera out, it had gone into the undergrowth beside someone's driveway. On the way back, the pheasant was back on the grass. Stopped  and grabbed the camera which I had ready to use. The pheasant flew away with much noise.

The quail remained atop the gate. I have not previously seen a leucistic quail.

Are there more leucistic birds now?
