Night shift

In the heart of the town this evening I was pleasantly surprised to hear two owls as I walked back to the car after giving a talk to potential volunteers. The hoots and screeches of these nocturnal birds took me right back to my rural childhood in Surrey!

Today is the 60th anniversary of the assassination of President JF Kennedy. Everyone remembers exactly where they were when they heard this news.
