Today's the day ........................ for colour

A lovely mild autumn day here today with plenty of sunshine - and a walk along the riverside was irresistible.

There's still plenty of colour in the hedgerows and actually still lots of autumn leaves on the trees.  This autumn seems to have lingered longer round here than it usually does - somehow without the huge piles of leaves, clogging up the drains and the gutters.  Unless they've all been cleared without us noticing?!  

The red hawthorn berries looked perfect against the green ivy.  Ah yes, Mother Nature knows how to colour-coordinate ..................
