happy family day, not just for fathers

Mother's day was pretty awful for me this year- not like i expect to be pampered and fussed over- but still. We decided that we would share today instead and therefore make it family day. And in line with what we all seem to enjoy as individuals we decided that a visit to Edinburgh zoo would be a suitable treat for us all.

Bobby seems to have inherited our love of animals, actually being honest, you could say that he is animal daft. He was able to make animal noises and movements, weeks and weeks before he uttered his first word. Edinburgh zoo has done a great job in improving the quality of the enclosures and enrichment for the animals, as well as bringing their conservation ethos to the attention of the public.

After we had climbed to the hilltop- taken in the view and had a wee run about in the playpark there- we descended to check out the lions. Just prior to capturing this photo, the male had placed a huge chunk of meat at the female's feet. Looking at this photo now, it is like they are having a wee smooch after his gift giving.
