Bunker's Hill

My concentration on poor Gizzy yesterday caused me to miss mentioning the anniversary of the Battle of Bunker Hill. The British captured the hill near Boston with much loss of life on 17th June 1775 during the War of Independence.

Not that I wish in any way to glorify war, far from it but, twice a day, I pass this farm.

It is a "folly" (we have several round here) built around 1789 and named Bunker's Hill. As I came home tonight I got drenched getting to the car. Nearer home the sun was out enabling me to blip the folly against the sky, still dark over the town.
