Poverty Point, Louisiana

We went to a UNESCO World Heritage Site today. We had no clue there were prehistoric earthworks , esp on this scale, so nearby! Our friend Henry loves this kind of thing, as do we. He knew about it. Fascinating! To move those millions of pounds of dirt even with our modern machinery would be a fry! To do so in roughly 2-3 months with baskets and stone tools is unthinkable!
