Nature trail

Our Sunday afternoon walk was undertaken on foot from home to our local common.

Once there I was let off my lead - quite a surprise as I was wearing my smart new harness thingy which I thought meant that we were just doing road walking!

For this reason also I thought I must prove I am a good boy and not run off into the bushes (my people's are not completely sure yet whether I might get tangled up in the bushes with my new harness).

I decided to conduct my own nature trail, checking out the grasses, flowers, pond shores and smelling the air for all the creatures that might be lurking. In this picture I found a good viewpoint to see what birds were on the pond which generally seem to include coots, ducks, swans. No herons in sight at the moment.

To be honest, birds don't interest me - I am in to small furry creatures which were hiding very well from me today.

Well I was good - in fact I was excellent and didn't stray at all today.
