Harlow Carr looking Autumnal
Being in Harrogate for a wedding we decided to treat ourselves to a trip to the Turkish baths. Haven't been for a few years but it is really nice to just sit and pay to not do anything for 90 minutes. Felt like it loosened up the muscles too.
Following the baths we met up with P's dad and stepmum for lunch as they were coming to the wedding too, before going for a potter around Harlow Carr. The Betty's hot chocolate was delicious but ridiculously expensive (cheaper if you buy it in the main cafe to take out rather than from the wee one in the garden - just as a tip for anyone else going that way!) and the garden was looking super pretty in the autumnal colours.
P's dad and stepmum had a room in the wedding hotel and kindly let us get changed there and gave us a heads up that it was more formal than we thought, so we ditched the restuarant booking to make sure we turned up on time. Had a lovely evening, P really enjoyed catching up a little with his childhood pal and there were lots of well behaved kids whacking each other over the head with foam light-stick things which was very entertaining too. The Bride looked lovely and is generally a fab person so we were really glad we made the trip down.
