Sunday Sunset

This morning I made a double sized chocolate cake to take to Sarah's as she was hosting a surprise goodbye dinner for a couple from here who are moving to the mainland. In fact the wife is Asha's dentist and she'll be commuting for the next wee while. 
Lovely to see some people and get to know some others better. We drove home via Salinas to watch the sun setting. In extras is the view across to the airport.
Home and Asha had lots of questions about war, about what's happening in the Middle East, about the First and Second World War...she couldn't wrap her head around the reasons different conflicts have started.

Today I'm grateful for;
1) Getting to know Solveig better.
2) Living in a peaceful part of the world...not at all to be taken for granted.
3) Colourful skies.
