Cenotaph Flyover
These WWII era trainers are flying over our local Remembrance Day ceremony from Boundary Bay Airport.
During the war the airport was a base for training RAF and RCAF pilots, in planes just like these. My dad was posted there in support of plane maintenance. He would have loved seeing, and HEARING, these guys fly over.
We are just now finding out, that during the Cold War, the base was used as a top secret listening post to monitor Soviet military communications.
Today it is used to train pilots and for police driver training among other services, and is host to an annual air show.
