The way home

We arrived back in Livorno at about 8am, it was very windy as we arrived at the port, the little pilot boat was as disappearing behind the waves. It was dry and clear as we drove through the Toscana mountains up to Parma. A beautiful drive and not much traffic.
Back in Switzerland we decided to drive over the Gotthard pass, it was still open, but probably the last day this year. All the cafes and toilets etc were all boarded up ready for the heavy winter snows.
We were back home by 4pm, so a really nice easy drive and plenty of time to get the car emptied out.
