Autumn Colours

I thought the bottle of Apricot Brandy Liqueur which I bought today added an extra dimension to the autumnal hues of the fallen leaves.

I was reminded of my penchant for this liqueur by blipper Wildwood in whose company and under whose tutelage I downed many a glass back in those heady days  of the 70s in Lauder Road.

Since then I can’t remember ever having tasted it again, but having had a sip of the  brandy used to drip feed my Christmas cakes, I suddenly remembered the liqueur and felt the urge to buy a bottle. Having to prove I was over 18 in order to get it  made  me laugh so much the delivery boy must have wondered if I had already downed a bottle.

With the day transformed from wet and windy to sunshiny and breezy I went to the Central library after lunch  to find me  a book that was not quite such an erudite read as  “Lessons” by Iain McEwan. Since this involved a walk along George IV Bridge, I was amazed to find myself still having to battle my way through huge numbers of students, and tourists. I must live in one of the most crowded square miles in the UK which is acceptable as long as I am in the mood…….. which is hardly ever.
