Dog Walks

This is the only photograph I took today and as you can probably tell, it wasn’t intentional. It does however sum up how some of my walks with Merlin feel!

He likes to move quickly with a spring in his step, to be able to change direction according to the scents he detects. I think his legs are designed to move optimally when trotting or running, rather than walking.

I on the other hand am not designed quite like this, although I do like to walk briskly. This can cause dog walking to feel a little stressful at times and I’m happier when Merlin is free to run and follow his instincts. I’m sure he feels the same too.

A non-working day for me and a sunny one too. I enjoyed two dog walks with Andy and Merlin, and a few hours at the allotment. Today I tidied the storage area and pruned down the asparagus. I also dug up a bag full of potatoes, two of which we baked and had for dinner. Our first baked potatoes of the season!
