Swans on Saturday
Mr M and I had our coffee break at a picnic table by the Tweed this morning, and there were several swans on the river.
You learn something new every day! Didn't know until just now, when I 'Googled' "swans berwick", that Berwick is home to the second largest mute swan colony in Britain. Apparently there are around 200 permanent residents but the size of the herd increases in late summer and through the winter, and at peak times there are as many as 800 birds on the Tweed estuary.
