Enjoying a short period of sunshine

I really hope there’s not too many bangy fireworks this weekend - Portia doesn’t seem to mind them, but I know lots of cats and dogs do.  Plus I worry about wild birds and animals.  I follow a soap/serial on radio 4 - the Archers, set in the countryside.  They just ran a storyline about a horse being severely injured trying to escape from fireworks.  The fictional village bonfire committee decided to have only silent fireworks in response - what a good idea
