On the banks of the Allan Water

We have booked a holiday for next year, after much procrastination on both our parts, only to discover that instead of being ahead of the curve we are lucky to get two of the few remaining seats on a flight out of Glasgow.
 
Another couple at the travel agent same time as us decided to pop out for a quick bite to eat, because there was a queue , returned to find that the hotel they usually stay in had just sold the remaining room.
 
The couple before us had booked a cruise for 2025 to the Far East..
 
I mention this to the   travel agent, surprised at the demand for foreign holidays at this time of the year.
  
He nods. “People want to get away from the troubles.”
