Birthday celebrations at the Educated Flea
On the basis that it was Tony's birthday the day before yesterday, and Mr hazelh's birthday a couple of weeks ago, Liz decided that we should all go out for dinner.
Our venue for tonight's meal was the Educated flea on Broughton Street. The staff were very accommodating, even allowing Liz to bring the birthday cake that she baked for our pudding (blipped with the birthday boys). Our starters and main courses from the restaurant itself were fabulous. I chose a salmon starter followed by confit de canard. The only wrinkle in the evening is that the trains to and from Waverley are cancelled due to a power outage. Thus Liz and Tony's mode of transport home to North Berwick is uncertain.
We spent most of the rest of the day hunkered down at home avoiding the rain. I would have gone for a 10k run at lunchtime. However, I suffered a soaking first thing on our Thursday morning supermarket run, and didn't fancy getting drenched a second time.
Exercise today: 1 hour on the exercise bike; small amount of walking (8,826 steps).
