Resound

This afternoon I visited the Church of St Michael and All Angels at Blewbury to see the 'Resound' window by Rachel Phillips. This has been on my list of stained glass windows to visit for a while and I wasn't disappointed. Its a wonderful vibrant window celebrating the history of bell-ringing at the church. Each of the 'discs' represents one of the eight bells in the tower above and the design incorporates elements of the local landscape, sound waves, bell-ringer's codes and more. The window itself is flanked by six huge mirrored glass banners with more bell-ringer's codes. These reflect the light and colour of the window around the tower. I will have to re-visit with a different lens to capture that effect.
