Otto Wagner’s church of St Leopold at Steinhof

The first modernist church in Europe, stands at the highest point of the former “Lower Austria State Healing and Care Institute for patients with nervous and mental diseases” which was opened on 1907.
It’s a beautiful church with wonderful stained glass overlooking Vienna.
After looking around we walked in bright sunshine with clear blue skies (such a shame yesterday morning wasn’t like this) around the Wienerwald to the Hotel Schloss Wilhelmininberg for lunch and stunning views over Vienna.  Back at our hotel now resting up before heading out to dinner with cousin A and his wife.
The bus pass walkers would be proud of us we’ve been on buses, trams and underground trains today and have walked miles as well!!
