Fungi

Of course it'll look better Large on black

A pretty overcast day, but much less wet than forecast. I had arranged to meet up with a past guest - Paul - and we drove out to Lanthwaite woods as at least we would have shelter from the heavy rains - which never came. 

Did manage a fairly nice focus stack of this group of fungi, though not in 100% perfect condition, they were more than acceptable. 9 shots stacked in PS. I'm pretty sure they're Honey Fungus, which grows as a root system up to 2 miles(!) long, eventually fruiting as these mushrooms, by splitting the bark and pushing out from behind it - they are pretty destructive as fungi go!

Just great to meet up, have a chat and have a good time with a mate. He also came round in the evening for dinner.
