Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

Elizabeth came to take Archie out today instead of a very wet walk on Saturday. So I took advantage of him being happily occupied for most of the day, and went to the cinema. I wanted to see 'Killers of the Flower Moon' even though it's VERY long. JR had to go to get her Covid jab this afternoon, and anyway, she wasn't sure she wanted to see it.

I must say, I thought it would be far more violent and graphic than it was. Yes, there were murders, many murders, but no close ups of blood and gore. The sets and clothes were superb, and the three main actors are highly praised, though Di Caprio's perpetually downturned gob and jutting jaw was, at times, almost comical. The mid-west mumbled accents were indecipherable at times, and I wanted to switch on the subtitles, but I only looked at my phone (to check the time) twice - once at a couple of hours in, and again at 15 minutes left.

On the way home I caught the last of the sun. If Miss Jean Brodie's School seems slightly bowed - it isn't, it's my wobbly pano shot.
