Olive trees

Today was all about olive trees and olive oil. The area where we are staying is full of olive trees and it’s harvest time. The farmers put nets under the trees and shake them to dislodge the olives. Some of the nets are green but I liked the way the red stood out.

As it was forecast rain we decided to go to the olive museum. It was really interesting to learn about olive cultivation, the history of olive farming and how olive oil is produced. We bought a few products in the shop, after tasting, then had a late lunch in Imperia before returning to our accommodation for a lazy rest of the day.
