Home from the Library
Only gone away for a short time to pick up a reserved book from the library, but someone had an anxiety attack. The book, which both Gracie T-t on the left and PD Budd , the right, are examining [no, this is not a set up with hidden treats] seems perfect for today. I'd just dropped by car keys and library book on the walkway so I could pet the cats.
The wand toy with feathers and colourful mylar ribbons attached is Grace T-t's 'baby' like her own kitten or blanket. It consoles her. when she finds herself al She also loves playing with it. If she finds herself alone or abandoned -- or imagines herself to be. She gently picks it up just behind the attachment for the ribbons and mews while carrying it around the house until she finds me. Ot in this case she mews and carries it outside through the cat flap... no mean feat. I usually find it lying on the walkway or down the driveway. Wherever she can keep an eye on it.
I have tried leaving the 'baby' outside until nighttime to see if she will bring it inside the house. But she does not get it before I do.
I'v not entirely sure what this toy means to her. It was the first toy she got when she moved here. Because she came from a kitten's foundling home and rescue house she had to share will many of the other kittens who lived there awaiting to be adopted. he did not own any toys of her very own. The first mylar ribbon wand that I gave her was quite small and suited her 4 month old size. GTt has graduated to bigger babies as time has passed. This is 'baby' #3. No matter the change in size and improved cleanliness she loves and protect and plays with the next bigger baby as her very own when she gets it.
