Proximity

A brief trip to Pennington Flash this afternoon.

People are always feeding the swans, geese, ducks and gulls where the Flash meets the car park. On my recent visits I’ve noticed a single oystercatcher mixed in with the other birds, and only a foot or two from people’s feet. Which is a bit odd - every other oystercatcher I’ve ever seen is pretty flighty if people get too close. I took a few close ups of the bird, but I liked this one with people reflected in the puddle as it also reflected the unusual behaviour of this confiding individual.
