The best laid plans of mice and men …

We should be in Switzerland right now, enjoying a meal in the hotel restaurant , but we are still in Crema ! This morning we were busy getting our luggage in the car when my sister messaged me to say that our mother wasn’t feeling very well and could I go with her the doctor’s office before we left. So off I went with Mum to the doctor’s. He listened to her complaints, checked her belly and then took her pulse. And raced to his desk and computer mumbling ‘this is very wrong’. He told us we had to go to the A&E immediately as there was something very wrong with her heart.  We had walked to the doctor’s, but he said she shouldn’t walk any more than strictly necessary and that she could wait until we picked her up.

So I raced back to the hotel to get my husband and the car. At the A&E it was established that there was indeed something very wrong with her heart beat and they would start a treatment to get it more regular immediately. I was told to leave with all her personal belongings and that they would call me as soon as they had news. That was at 11:00 am. It is now 21:05 pm and we still don’t know the results, what’s actually wrong and whether she’ll have to stay in the hospital or not. We’ve been back several times and have managed to see her for a minute , but that’s all. So we’ve cancelled our hotels on the road back to the Netherlands and we will have to wait for news …

The Blip is of some shrub on the verge of the supermarket parking , showing autumn colours. For FlowerFriday with thanks to Anni/BikerBear.

Thanks very much for the kind comments and stars for yesterday’s lantern blues.
