Coniglia

We are in Italy for a weeks walking in the Cinque Terra region. Thursdays walk started in Coniglia and we followed a long steep trail up towards a village sitting on the side of the hill by the name of Volastra. We had paused in a cafe in Coniglia to allow a rain shower to pass by before we set off. It did not work, we set off and got caught in a biblical downpour. This soon past and we walked up along the trail which gave brief snapshots like the one above. On the way down we got caught again in a huge downpour which soaked everything and saw rivers of water flowing down the road into our destination of Manarola. We caught the train back to our base of Sestri Levanti. Friday will be an enforced rest day as the trains ( our main means of transport out of this town) are on strike! Does that sound familiar?
