Giant elephant ears

Brett definitely has a green thumb. He planted two elephant ear bulbs last spring and they have produced true elephant ear size leaves. Mine are puny compared to his. He also has more leaves at the bottom that are just unfurling.

One of his Roma tomato plants which had tomatoes all summer has 6 tomatoes on it. We are not sure if they will get ripe with the cooler weather but he said he would pick them to ripen inside if it looks like frost. No sign of that happening yet.


Surgery day today. A long 4+ hour surgery where the doctor had to do more repairs than she had first thought. She was reassuringly optimistic that everything was good and would work well in the future. But now my son is in major, major pain from incisions out and cut and sew back together inside. Push button pain meds so after we saw him we decided to leave so he would not try to talk to us. It was gobbledygook anyway.

It sure hurts my momma’s heart to see him so beat up and hurting. I need a magic wand to make him better. We have been so thankful for his nurses and the doctors as they are so caring and kind. Five to seven more days in the hospital.
