back on the road (bike)

After Anniemay’s charity fund-raising efforts on Saturday, when she was allowed to use the “to be used under direction” spin bike, I now have permission to use it too.  

I’m “under direction” for a few moments and when the member of staff watching me is satisfied that I’m not going to fall off, I’m left to it.

Wow - what a difference.  The riding position is much more like a conventional road bike and the transmission is so smooth (probably because not many people get to use it) that it’s up to speed quickly. 

After a few minutes I’m lost in memories of the past and I’m flying along the road like I did when I was 16.  (See extra).
