Christmas Before Halloween
…at Costco. We can always tell when the decor came from Costco because we see it everywhere. On the Halloween front we pass a house with a 10 foot tall skeleton, among other things. I am not really a fan of filling the yard full of random weird blow up witches and fake spiderwebs. I prefer the Dio de Los Muertos with its unique celebration of the dead and beautiful handmade altars.
We’ve driven from one side of the county to the other, or so it seemed, first going to see Kathy, then home for a quick lunch and on to Costco for flu and Covid shots. Making an appointment online and filling out the pages long form was worth it as everything was ready for us when we got there and we didn’t have to fumble around for cards with insurance numbers and dosages of drugs we are taking.
We are still pondering the RSV shot. RSV is a respiratory virus which has been around
for a long time but only recently have a vaccination for. As usual, babies and the elderly are most susceptible. We couldn’t face three shots at once so we’ll deal with that one later.
Back home, I have a headache but don’t know yet if it’s from the shots or from driving all over with John when he thinks we’re late (we weren’t). It reminded me of why I hate traveling through airports with him….
I’m putting a slightly more Halloween-like photo of a raven perched on an oak branch for IainatCreel. What are you planning to do with it Iain?
