Hedgehog

We are assured that there are plenty of hedgehogs in Ireland.  We've seen no evidence in our rather monoculture garden as yet.  But tomorrow we have gardeners coming (weather permitting - the forecast isn't great) to help us plant up the area around the pond.  B is bringing rocks.  

We went into New Ross this afternoon, to see if we could find suitable stepping stones.  Our first choice of supplier didn't have anything suitable.  Then we went to do our supermarket shopping, and saw another garden centre - so we tried there.  Success - a variety of concrete stepping stones with wildlife pictures imprinted.  We bought 5 - it won't be enough, but it's a good start.
