I took this photo just as the sun was fading, but until then it had been a sunny and warm morning. Later a cold wind from the north strengthened and I needed my woolly hat and fleece on.

Today is one of my days off work. Andy was playing golf so Merlin and I had a lazy breakfast, and then a long morning walk. We were out for over three hours, first in the meadow where he could run, then we walked to the yacht basin at Emsworth and onto Thorney Island. The over wintering geese and ducks are starting to arrive so we did a little bird watching, before embarking on our walk home.

These funny little cabins are at the yacht basin. I think they are mainly used by wealthy boats people who live in London as a weekend venue. Many are decorated with art work made from pebbles and shells.

This afternoon I’ve planted the garlic at the allotment and dug up a sack full of weeds! And completed another dog walk which Merlin was demanding by 4pm.

So good to be outside feeling the weather and the changing season, and to be free to explore the local coastline with Merlin as my walking companion.
