Cosmos

A day of sunshine and showers, l manage a few garden shots while the sun is shining. Our garden is still full of colour, G having cut back flowers before we went away. It looks more like August than October, and my cosmos were so late this year that they are now almost at their prime. Over the next few weeks, preparations for the winter will sadly see an end to this, but the planting of spring bulbs is always a statement of optimism and there’s much to look forward to.

It’s a day when Welsh and Irish hopes have been shattered, dreams of rugby glory left in tatters. For Wales, a quarter final place was far beyond our expectations based on performance earlier this year, but Gatland’s magic produced some wonderful moments of self belief. Sadly, today there are too many errors. To be honest, I feel far worse about the Ireland defeat - a superb game of rugby worthy of a final;  sad that either team should miss out on progressing further.

Many thanks for your kind responses to yesterday’s Conwy sunset - all much appreciated.
