Familiar face

On a very quiet day at the shop one customer was a real surprise face from the past. A couple came into the shop but the male customer said he was more interested in the sporting memorabilia shop nearby and turned to go. We recognised each other from over ten years ago….when he was the window cleaner at the company I used to work at. He was an avid Stoke fan and we always swapped football stories, i worked in finance and he would always bring his bill to me by hand. It was lovely to see him again after all this time. He even managed to find a 1950’s football programme in the footie shop.
I managed ten minutes in the watery sun this afternoon, I don’t think the cafe will be selling many more ice creams this year.
