Setting the Tone
I woke a bit earlier than usual this morning, and looking out the window, saw what looked to be a pretty day after rain last night, so I dressed quickly and wandered around the garden with both cameras, snapping whatever took my fancy.
These jaunty vine maple leaves, glistening with raindrops and exulting in the (all too brief) sunshine, was my favorite image -- and I hope will set the tone for the rest of my day!
On another topic, two of my 2012 blip photos received awards in the recent City of Bellingham's 2013 Essence of Bellingham photo competion: Triptych (July 13) took Best of Legacies -- Social Justice, and Functional Beauty (November 20 with a new title) an honorable mention.
(There are nine Legacies adopted by the City Council in 2009: "We are working today so future generations will benefit from (1) clean, safe drinking water, (2) a healthy environment, (3) a vibrant, sustainable economy, (4) a sense of place, (5) a safe and prepared community, (6) mobility and connectivity options, (7) access to quality of life amenity, (8) quality, responsive city services, and (9) equity and social justice.")
