Man and Machine

Today has been bloody annoying!

At breakfast I made a protein shake with banana, oats, milk, yogurt and peanut butter. Very tasty. I stood the bottle next to me on the sofa while I did Wordle, which I've done countless times before and will never do again. Whilst I was concentrating on five letter words the bottle fell over, anointing the sofa with bunge!

When I finally noticed, I said a few four letter words!

My attempts to clean up the worst with kitchen roll just seemed to spread it but I got most of it off. It still looked like someone had vomited on the cushion though and I knew it would not be long before it started to smell like that too.

Next job, Google it! The best thing seemed to be hiring an upholstery cleaner. I messaged Brian as I thought Jewsons did tool hire. They don't have anything suitable though and he suggested Rug Doctor from Tesco.

I booked one and did it slightly wrong but could not change it. That was annoying too but we had no choice but to go with it. It was just for 24 hours instead of 48, and Brian would have to come out of a very hectic Jewsons to collect it in the afternoon. We also had to buy expensive cleaning products to go in it!

This pretty much derailed my day! Since we'd have more product and enough time we should make the most of it so I hoovered everywhere so we could do the rug and carpets too. I dusted and polished everywhere downstairs too. That was hard work. All sorts of little things went wrong, like the hoover cable getting firmly trapped under the door and some of Minstrel's water spilled out when I moved in to clean.

Then it was time to get the Tesco shopping done, though I just wanted to go to sleep really. That at least went pretty smoothly, though their card machines were down. Brian had cash anyway, but they came back online as we were ready to pay.

Home, shopping away and on with the cleaning. Brian did most of it but I did half a sofa and part of the last carpet before we ran out of product! I showed willing anyway!

Now everywhere is damp and there's nowhere to sit! I'm posting this on my phone from a rather uncomfortable camping chair.

The Rugby League end of season awards take place tonight. My favourite player is nominated for the main award. Hope he wins, he deserves to!
