New Mexico landscape
This pronghorn antelope is singularly unimpressed about grazing in the field that houses the world's largest radio telescope (the VLA or Very Large Array).
We're motelling tonight in Magdalena, New Mexico, just down the road from the VLA. It was a long drive to get here, over mountain range after mountain range, but the scenery was as great as expected. We encountered a W I D E load that moved at 5mph, a completely closed road that forced a major diversion over the White Mts, single line roadworks on said diversion and finally a collapsed well in Magdalena that seems to have caused everywhere to close early. The motel does have water though! And a microwave for our dinner of Hot Pockets; yum! And we brought beer!!
