Gone Swimming

Our hotel, Haddington House seems to have a thing about being a hotel for sea swimming, there are baskets in the room for taking to the water and piles of beach towels by reception.  This seemed odd until we realised we were just down the road from Dun Laoghaire’s famous Forty Foot.  A bracing swimming spot seen recently in Apple TV’s Bad Sisters.   We are also alongside a beach.   I looked out of the window at 6.30am and saw a woman leaving the hotel with her swimming togs. 

We had a zoom in the bar with the BBC which went well and then spent the morning on episode 5 which is in great shape.   Vik joined me today to go to see Milly and Tom in Kilkenny but as his plane was cancelled and he had to get himself to London City Airport it was all a bit tricky.  I went in the car with Jonathan and Nick who were leaving, we arrived at the airport only 30 mins before Nick’s flight but he made it. 


V and I picked up the hire car and drove to M & T’s outside Kilkenny for a lovely dinner and a meeting with their puppy Nellie.  We are staying in a very expensive hotel quite near them which is beautiful, but very golf focussed and full of Americans here for a big wedding.  Our room is huge to be fair but we could have done with slightly less floor space and some furniture into which we could unpack.
